Dear Network Partners

Between late August and late October, the pastors you stand with preached in markets, refugee settlements and remote border villages. They saw people come to Christ, trained new leaders, and carried one another through grief, sickness and loss, in prayer.

Through the HHN Community and our smaller Discipleship Groups, they now pray, study Scripture and sharpen one another every day. Your partnership makes this possible.

“Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”1 Corinthians 15:58

What your support made possible

In October the pastors shared testimonies for their Network Partners. Here is some of what your monthly support did, in their own words.

I have successfully ministered gospel to hard to reach remote areas along the border of Uganda and Congo … 30 souls have believed Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.Pastor Jino Kuluse · Pakwach, Uganda
I've experienced an unmerited favor of God in all my endeavors for the Lord … This year has been hard but I have seen God's hand of provision.Pastor Aita Seith · Uganda

  • Pastor Roselyn Chikwasha — support arrived just as her church needed its sound system repaired before a revival. It is fixed, revivals are running and the church is growing.
  • Rev Morris Okumu — visited his branch church in Guruguru, Amuru district, and helped it buy grass for its roof.
  • Pastor Ochola Bosco — “It will mean a lot to my family.”
Support includes a monthly data allowance, keeping every pastor connected for teaching and prayer. When Pastor Walter Owani received a donated phone, he joined the network the same day.

Evangelism

The Gospel going out

Your pastors are taking the good news to people who rarely hear it — on football pitches, in hospital wards, at farm trainings and in hostile border communities.

  • Pastor Paul Ocaya rode about 260 km by motorcycle from Agago to Agoro in Lamwo, on the South Sudan border, to preach and teach groups of churches. He encouraged small evangelical congregations who face pressure from their neighbours, and now leads group counselling to bring reconciliation.
  • Pastor Jino Kuluse serves remote areas on the Uganda–Congo border. In Pakwach district, 30 people have put their faith in Christ. His team taught over 300 children about Jesus in two schools and counselled couples in crisis.
  • Pastor Ochola Bosco uses “Good News Balls” printed with Romans 3:23 to share the Gospel with youth football teams in Kiryandongo refugee settlement, and shares Christ at the poultry trainings he runs for young people of every background.
  • Rev Morris Okumu and the Fellowship of Born Again Churches in Anaka visited the hospital’s maternity, children’s and isolation wards, praying with patients and giving soap and sugar.
  • Pastor Roselyn Chikwasha in Zimbabwe is holding revival meetings at Gospel Revival International Church, the latest on 23–25 October.
  • Pastor Auma Jenty reaches out especially to struggling families in her community. Her congregation in Omoro district still meets under a mango tree.
  • Pastor Aita Seith is regularly asked to lead when pastors from different denominations meet, and a compassion ministry reaches people who are hurting.
  • Pastor Michael Okema loves preaching in marketplaces, schools and hospitals.

Discipleship & training

Equipping leaders who will train others

Your pastors are multiplying themselves: what they receive, they pass on to the next generation of leaders.

The pastors are growing in their own studies too. Angu Charles is sitting final exams this month. Michael Okema is in the second year of his diploma, learning to rear poultry, rabbits and black soldier flies to share with his community. Ochola Bosco, Denis Ochen and Precious Mwale are studying towards diplomas, and Paul Ocaya towards a Master of Divinity.

Mentoring & fellowship

Pastors mentored, coached and strengthened

The HHN Community has become a daily place of teaching, accountability and friendship for pastors who often serve alone.

Studying the Trinity together

Pastor Johan opened a series titled “I love the Trinity”. Pastors worked through Matthew 3:16–17 and shared when they first understood God as Father, Son and Spirit. Precious Mwale wrote that in a hard season she learned she was “held by a family”.

Growing in discernment

Pastors studied Ephesians 4:11–16 and what it means for apostles and prophets today. Mentors steered a lively discussion back to humility and the authority of Scripture.

Discipleship Groups

The Network Pastors now meet in two small Discipleship Groups for closer sharing and prayer.

African leadership growing

Pastors Paul Ocaya, Thomas Adda, Michael Okema and Ochola Bosco now serve as the Uganda Area Leadership Team, leading the Discipleship Groups and advising the HHN board.

Pastor Thomas Adda teaching. He has preached through John’s Gospel since last year.

“It has been a big blessing to fellowship in this platform since I became part of the family … I am blessed because I have now prayer partners.”

Churches built and communities served

God is providing buildings, and the churches are serving their neighbours.

Please pray with us

Give thanks

  • For 30 new believers in Pakwach, and 300 children who heard the Gospel in their schools.
  • For Bible School graduates in Nwoya and Gulu, 57 leaders in training, and 100+ women leaders strengthened.
  • For church buildings rising in Kiryandongo and Zimbabwe, and the borehole God provided.
  • For new babies in Igga’s, Michael’s and Raphael’s families, and October support that arrived “at the time I really needed it”.

Ask God

  1. Pastor Denis Ochen lost his family home to fire on 4 October while he was away teaching at the Portable Bible School. His family is safe, and the graduation went ahead on 17 October. Pray for provision as they rebuild — he says his “faith is strong and stronger”.
  2. Rain across the region. Northern Uganda has had very little rain. Paul Ocaya lost four acres of beans and Morris Okumu his groundnuts. Pray for rain and for families facing food shortages.
  3. Pastor Paul Ocaya — strength for long journeys, wisdom as he counsels a divided community.
  4. Pastor Michael Okema — his diploma exams this month.
  5. Rev Morris Okumu and Pastor Igga Joseph, who both buried family members this season.
  6. Pastor Thomas Adda’s church — resources to finish it, and protection against false teaching in the settlement.
  7. The Pastors’ Wives Conference, 27–28 November, at Victory Christian Center, Olwiyo, with Pastors Precious Mwale and Roselyn Chikwasha among the speakers.
  8. Pastor Precious Mwale — safe travel home to Livingstone after a family funeral.
  9. Pastor Aita Seith — the care and compassion ministry; Pastor Angu Charles — final exams.
  10. Pastor Atim Josephine — getting a new phone so she can join the HHN Community.
  11. All 17 pastors — humility and wisdom as they study the Word together.
Thank you

Every story here is fruit of your faithful giving and prayer. When a pastor’s house burns, a harvest fails or a long road wears a servant down, these men and women no longer stand alone. They stand with one another, and they stand with you.
